ARE VOLUMOD PRODUCTS COVERED BY A WARRANTY?

Volumod provides a standard one-year limited warranty for material or workmanship defects. The materials we supply, such as appliances, roofing, siding and plumbing fixtures, also include pass-through warranties from the manufacturers. Any Volumod-related defects should be referred directly to Volumod; pass through warranties should be referred directly to the manufacturer. Just make sure to review the terms of your limited warranty in the contract to understand what types of defects are included and excluded.

Volumod has a stringent quality control and inspection process throughout production. Our products adhere to all applicable the state and local building codes of the region where the structures are installed. These codes are the same ones that apply to traditional, site-built construction, ensuring compliance with all local safety and regulatory standards. This approach guarantees that our units meet or exceed all quality and required code standards.

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY PERIOD?

Your Volumod limited warranty begins on the date the unit is delivered to your site, and our standard limited warranty extends one year from that date. However, depending on which product you purchased, you may have the option to buy an extended warranty, purchased from an independent, third-party warranty company. To see if the product you are building qualifies for an extended warranty option, email our sales department below.

WHAT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY?

Now that you know when your limited warranty begins and ends, let’s get into what specifically the warranty typically covers. Although rare, there are possible defects that could occur in your unit.

Your Volumod limited warranty covers:

  • Defects in materials or workmanship of the unit, including in the structural, plumbing, heating and electrical systems.

  • If Volumod is provided with written notice of the defect during the limited warranty period and the defect is covered by the limited warranty, Volumod will repair or replace the component in which the defect appears.

  • Many products included in a Volumod structure are covered by pass-through warranties by the products' manufacturer. These warranties transfer to the buyer - Click here to find the covered products.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
  • Damage caused during transportation or set of the modules.

  • Defects in the site-installed structures that are attached to the home, such as decks and porches.

  • Damage caused by negligence, misuse or accidents from owners, renters or subcontractors.

  • Damage from natural disasters. â€‹

  • As specified in your contract, the buyer is responsible for any minor drywall joint cracks, nail/screw pops, and cracks resulting from shipment or set-up of the modules.

  • Mechanical adjustments to assemblies used in the structure of your modules, including door latches, threshold adjustments, cabinet door adjustments, and temperature/pressure settings on heat/cool producing appliances, are considered normal set up and/or maintenance and are usually adjusted by the general contractor completing the site work at the Buyer’s cost, and not included in the Warranty.

HOW DO I REQUEST SERVICE?

Now let’s talk about how to file a warranty claim with Volumod. For pass through warranties (like appliances, shingles, siding, etc.) contact the product manufacturer directly.

For other types of claims, we'll need to know about which module you are concerned. Each module has a unique serial number that can be found on the data plate. Data plates are usually located in the electrical panel or under a sink, as directed by the architectural prints.

Make sure to indicate the repair you believe you will need, and we will help you understand how to initiate service. Details are very important, so make sure you provide a comprehensive description and location within the unit. For example, "The top 6"x12" drawer front is damaged in the secondary bathroom on the second floor." Pictures are extremely helpful in determining what is wrong, so please upload photos with your Warranty Request Form.

The fastest way to correct issues is for a local contractor to complete the work and be reimbursed by Volumod. For warranty work to be reimbursed it must have a prior authorization from the factory. To obtain prior authorization, include an estimate on the Warranty Request Form. This estimate needs to be approved prior to the work being started.

We're excited for you to enjoy our quality craftsmanship now and in the years to come! Do you still have questions not covered in this guide? Feel free to email the Volumod team at Warranty@Volumod.com.
